Terms of use
Last updated: 6 November 2026
These terms cover the Lev app and this website, including Tehillim campaigns. Lev is made by Ilan Uzan, an individual whose business is based in Quebec, Canada ("we"). By using Lev, you agree to them.
The app
The app is licensed to you under Apple's standard licence agreement. These terms add to it. If the two conflict, Apple's agreement applies to the app.
Lev isn't a rabbi
Times are calculated for your location from Hebcal.com and can differ by a minute or two from other sources. Where a calculation is unreliable, such as very far north, Lev shows no time rather than a wrong one. Lev shows the opinions it follows; it doesn't rule between them. For any question of Jewish law, ask your rabbi, and allow a margin before a deadline.
Reminders depend on your iPhone's settings and on iOS delivering them. Don't rely on Lev alone for anything you can't afford to miss.
Tehillim campaigns
Campaigns are for prayer: for someone's recovery, in someone's memory, for success, for safety, or a similar religious purpose. When you create one, you agree that its title and dedication:
- are not political, missionary, commercial, hateful or abusive;
- name a person only with their permission or their family's, and share no more about them than needed;
- don't promise any result in exchange for taking part or for money.
You keep ownership of what you write, and you let us show it to everyone who opens the campaign's link. We can hide or remove any campaign that breaks these rules or is reported, and we may stop someone from creating campaigns. Anyone can report a campaign from its page; campaigns reported by several people are hidden until we review them.
Taking part is free. Please read the chapter you take, or give it back so someone else can read it.
Subscriptions
Some features may need a Lev Pro subscription. Apple sells and bills it, and Apple's terms cover payment, renewal and refunds. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple account settings, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If a free trial is offered and you cancel during it, you aren't charged. Campaigns, times, reminders, Tehillim and prayers stay free.
Texts
Hebrew texts and translations come from editions in the public domain or under open licences, through Sefaria. Each text in the app names its source.
No warranty
Lev is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a missed time, reminder or campaign. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Changes and ending
We may change these terms and will update the date above. You can stop using Lev at any time; deleting the app removes its data from your phone.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without taking away mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live.
